Thrift Stores

Abba House Ministries opened its first thrift store in 2002 in Silver City. Over the last several years, the Silver City store has grown from 1,500 square feet to over 8,400 square feet and profits have increased by more than 50% per year since 2002. Presently, the Thrift Stores at Abba House Ministries provide for more than 40% of the overall operating cost of the ministry to women and their children.
Abba House opens a New Thrift Store!
On September 17, 2009 Abba House Ministries celebrated the grand opening of its second thrift store in Hammond’s Crossing. Located at 3427 Keith Bridge Road in Cumming, the 7,000 square feet in this second thrift store has allowed Abba House to reach the community on a larger scale as well as increasing the impact we are able to have in the lives of ladies and their children.
Both Abba House Silver City and Hammond’s Crossing have regular and ongoing sale days to bring our customers even greater value for their money. Wednesdays are always “Senior Day” at Abba House Thrift Stores, allowing those who are 55 and older to receive 15% off of their total purchases (excluding furniture and items from the greenhouse). Every month Abba House Thrift Stores also discount different colored clothing “tags” 50% off their normal price.
Additional sales are scheduled throughout the month at both stores and are posted near the doorways at each location.

Developing Leadership Skills at Abba House

At Abba House, the primary goal of every project and industry is the ultimate benefit to the ladies in the program. Although the sales from the Thrift Stores allow us to keep tuition at an extremely low rate, the purpose of the Thrift Store far exceeds a way to generate income. While in the program at Abba House, the ladies will hold various positions of leadership and obtain countless real world job skills. The Thrift Stores are structured in such a way that ladies are accountable for different departments and the ladies within those departments. The ladies learn the value of a hard day’s work and how to submit to authority in a job setting.
When you visit our stores, you’ll see that the ladies are also learning how to take pride in their work and reap the rewards of a job well done. The ladies are responsible for everything in the stores, from the merchandise on the floor to the way it’s displayed, to the atmosphere the customers experience when they shop with us.
